The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's success, its talented performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers collected seven awards during the event.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
